Hydrogeo were commissioned to undertake Environmental Consultancy Services during the enabling and construction phase in order to ensure the compliance with Planning Conditions assigned to the new Morrisons store located on Monument Hill, Weybridge.
The Morrisons store site previously accommodated Focus DIY and offices which were developed in the 1980’s on land occupied by a local garage and petrol filling station. During site redevelopment six underground fuel storage tanks, pipework, drainage features and structures associated with the former petrol filling station were identified, removed and verified in accordance with the Remediation Strategy.
Hydrogeo liaised with the regulatory authorities, attended site throughout redevelopment in order to verify Remediation works and advise the client team with regard contaminated land and hydrogeological issues through the site development.
Following project completion Hydrogeo issued a Remediation Works Verification Report to Elmbridge Borough Council. The report and supporting information ensured that all related planning conditions were signed off ensuring that the site could be officially opened to customers in November 2014.
