Site Investigation
Hydrogeo were commissioned to undertake a Phase II Intrusvie Site Investigation to inform proposed redevelopment of the former Anglesey Aluminium Metal Limited site in Holyhead.
During full operation, the 230 acre site comprised a series of potlines, underground conveyor belts, rectifier yard, garage, vehicle refuelling, multiple steel frame buildings, large stockpiling areas and expanses of hardstanding.
Hydrogeo advanced a grid of trial pits across the site, targeting areas which were previously inaccessible given the extensive building and dense vegetation cover.
Following completion of the works, Hydrogeo issued a series of reports to the Client team in support of the development and planning application. The propsoed plans will revitalise the disused site and create some 200,000 sqm of development as part of a low carbon campus for renewable energy, data centre and wider technological investment.
